RAKU and stuff

RAKU is an ancient form of low fire ceramics. It was originated and developed in Japan The art form was then further developed in the United States. The art piece is covered with a colored slip when it is dry, then bisque fired. Any number of raku glazes may follow. The final color and appearance is affected by how it is processed and fired. Some of those process’s are shown here however all but two of the pieces were reduced. (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raku_ware ) for more detailed information.

I will be continuing to study Raku. All of the pieces here are available for purchase.
